Hypnotherapy – What it is and what it isn’t
You may be surprised to learn that all of us regularly go into Hypnotic trances many times a day already. For example, when we get absorbed in a task or a favourite television programme. It is an entirely natural and safe. You will find many definitions of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, but my overall favourite is this; ‘Hypnosis is a natural everyday phenomenon used to communicate with the unconscious and update it, so that the client’s own resources can be used to solve their problems’ (Dr.Brian Roet, Understanding Hypnosis).
You may be relieved to hear there are no swinging watches or anything to fear. While a Hypnosis experience is different for everyone, you will usually enjoy a very relaxed time, feeling as though you are one step away from falling asleep but also totally aware. Clients who have enjoyed Yoga or Meditation tell me it is very similar. As my client you will be totally safe and supported. You can be confident that I will do my utmost to help you achieve your goal. Remember Hypnotherapy is totally safe, remarkably effective and in itself a very relaxing way to spend time. Most Clients report enjoying the Hypnotic experiences immensely in their own right. For more information please see my Frequently Asked Questions page.
